Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21
(Be aware before you read anything on this blog that I am not a theologian and I get things wrong from time to time)
That must of been some dream that Joseph had for him to wake up and do what the angel of the Lord directed him to do. Being told that no man had relations with the “your wife” and that “For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.” and having this being revealed to him in a dream shows tremendous faith on Joseph part. Today, we receive messages in dreams also, but we don’t act, because we think well its just a dream. But what if Joseph woke up and said well it is just a dream? We have to be open and listen to God’s calling in any way or form that God wants us to hear Him. In Joseph case God choose to send an angel to deliver a message in a dream.
